Order all your PE potable water pipe system components from one source

At Bosta we stock all the components required for the installation of PE (polyethylene) potable water pipe systems, servicing our industrial and agricultural customers in well drilling and borehole installation, tank fabrication and livestock applications such as drinking systems for pigs.

PE80 pipe, also known as PE pipe, MDPE pipe and blue water pipe, is approved for use in potable water systems. It is also used due to its favourable properties, specifically its flexibility versus PVC and PE100, durability and resistance to corrosion. Blue PE80 pipe is available to order now, in classes SDR9 and SDR11, in 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 50mm and 63mm diameters, in 25m, 50m and 100m lengths, and with a maximum working pressure of 12.5 bar.

Our comprehensive range of high-quality Jason compression fittings are DVGW, KIWA and WRAS approved, and available in multiple sizes to suit every PE pipe installation. The range consists of straight couplers, elbows, reducers, threaded adaptors, t-pieces and caps, all of which are compatible with MDPE, LDPE and HDPE.

Our Profec PP ball valves, also known as compression valves or PE valves, are specifically designed for PE piping systems. These ball valves have a blue handle, come in a range of sizes and have a 10 bar pressure rating.

Associated products for PE piping systems: Profec pressure tanks

Our Profec pressure tanks, also widely known as pressure vessels, are used for storing and regulating water pressure in water supply systems such as PE potable water pipe systems. They can come in vertical and horizontal orientations, and in various sizes, including the popular 300-litre capacity vertical tank.

These tanks are often used in commercial, industrial, and residential settings to maintain consistent water pressure and reduce the frequency of pump cycling.

Associated products for PE piping systems: Foras jet pumps

Produced by the Foras Pump company, the range of jet pumps are commonly used for drawing water from wells, boreholes, or other underground water sources. They are known for their ability to lift water from considerable depths and are often used in industrial, agricultural, or residential settings.

They are constructed from robust materials such as stainless steel or cast iron to ensure durability and corrosion resistance. Download product specification sheets from the Bosta webshop product pages, where you will find information on construction materials and capabilities such as the maximum depth a pump can effectively draw water from.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of using PE pipes for potable water?

PE pipes offer corrosion resistance, flexibility, a smooth interior surface for efficient water flow, and a long lifespan. They are also resistant to scaling and provide reliable performance.

What colour-coding is used for PE pipes in potable water applications?

In the UK blue PE pipes are used for potable water applications. At Bosta we sell blue PE80 pipe in a range of diameters and lengths.

What considerations are important during the installation of PE potable water pipe systems?

Proper installation practices, including careful bedding and backfilling, are crucial. Adherence to building standards and regulations is essential to ensure the integrity and performance of the system.

Are PE pipes environmentally friendly?

Yes, PE pipes are considered environmentally friendly. They are recyclable and have a low environmental impact compared to some other materials.

How long do PE potable water pipe systems typically last?

Proper installation practices, including careful bedding and backfilling, are crucial. Adherence to building standards and regulations is essential to ensure the integrity and performance of the system.

How are PE pipes joined in potable water systems?

PE pipes are typically joined with compression fittings which create strong, leak-free connections. Heat fusion methods such as butt fusion or electrofusion can also be used.
