HEX Drum filter range

The innovative HEX Drum Filter has a unique HEX BeeCell filter panel designed for reliable and efficient water filtration and removal of particles from 10 to 500 micron. The Direct Driven Gear Wheels, dual slope sludge tray, UV-resistant cover lids and unique tank, are all made of non-corrosive high-tech polymer.
  • Innovative Danish design - manufactured in Germany

  •  Non-corrosive even in warm saltwater
  • Water and energy saving with HEX E-Control
  • Smooth operation with low maintenance
  • Cutting edge drum design - made of high-tech, lightweight polymer, 100% balanced
  • High quality, non-corrosive ceramic bearings
  • Highly durable, suitable for RAS and flow through systems

TM drum filter range

Benefit from the latest filtration technology with our new range of drum filters:
  • 5 models to choose from
  •  Range from 5m3h to 140m3h depending on model
  • Maximised screen mesh area for reduced water consumption and cost of ownership
  • Very low electrical power consumption (0.18 - 0.55kw)
  • Suitable for saltwater applications - made from plastics to reduce corrosion
  • Use of plastics gives better LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), therefore better for the environment
  • Low maintenance design

Smart Box controller – available with TM3, TM4 and TM5 models only

  • Energy efficiency is optimised thanks to Variable Frequency Drive

Mechanical filtration

Mechanical filtration is an important component of land-based fish farms, as it helps to remove solid waste and debris from the recirculating water. There are several types of mechanical filtration systems that are commonly used in land-based fish farms. The choice of mechanical filtration system will depend on the specific needs of the fish farm, including the size of the system, the type of fish being raised, and the volume of water being circulated.

Frequently asked questions

What are the advantages of using a drum filter in aquaculture?

Drum filters offer several benefits, including efficient removal of solid waste, improved water quality, reduced maintenance, and the ability to handle high flow rates. They help maintain optimal conditions for fish and other aquatic organisms.

Are drum filters suitable for all types of aquaculture systems?

Drum filters are versatile and can be used in various aquaculture systems, including recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), fish farms, and hatcheries. They are particularly useful in systems where water quality management is crucial.

What types of waste can drum filters remove?

Drum filters are effective at removing a wide range of solid waste, including uneaten feed, fish feces, algae, and other particulate matter. They can help reduce ammonia and nitrate levels in the water, which is beneficial for the health of aquatic organisms.

How do you choose the right drum filter for an aquaculture system?

The selection of a drum filter depends on factors such as the system's flow rate, the size of the aquaculture operation, and the specific requirements of the species being cultured. Get advice from our experts [en-gb/contact-us] to determine the appropriate filter size and configuration.

Are there any environmental considerations when using drum filters?

While drum filters can significantly improve water quality, the captured waste material needs to be properly managed to prevent environmental pollution. Many aquaculture operations use settling tanks or other methods to separate and treat the waste material.

Can drum filters be used in saltwater aquaculture?

Yes, drum filters can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquaculture systems. However, it's essential to select materials that are corrosion-resistant when using them in saltwater environments.
